Safe Mode Boot?

Is there a way to boot WM5 in Safe Mode like you can in desktop Win versions? I am trying to delete old program files from incomplete uninstall & keep getting error messages.

I think an SPB product offers a safe mode. Might be easier to explain what you are trying to uninstall and what errors you are getting, since even in a safe mode you will have to clean things up :)

I am trying to uninstall a foler and two files remaining from a program (Epocrates) I had previously uninstalled. The folder location is at Start\Windows\AppMgr and the two files are "31EB" abd STP2B01"

When I try to delete them, I get the message "File 31EB is a system file. If you remove it, your device or one of its programs may not work correctly. Are you sure you want to delete it?". I hit YES and then get "Cannot delete. Access denied. Make sure disk is not full or write protected and file is not currently in use".

I am about certain these are not system files, as they are in a folder called "EPocrates" which is the name of the program I had previously uninstalled". I have tried to delete the entire folder and the two files individually and keep getting the same message. The files are small in size, so I suppose it won't hurt anything to keep them there, I just want to get rid of them if at all possible.

Any ideas??

I will assume you have soft reset and tried again.

Using file explorer, check Windows/StartUp. What is in there? Anything related to this program? That's the first place i would look. :)

Yes, I have tried soft resents and then when I try to delete the two files mentioned above, I get the same error messages.

In WIndows/Startup, threre are 7 files/programs listed. The only thing listed that I do not recognize is "odClientCeAutoLaunchSmart". The size of the file is 6.04k. The name of the program I am trying to (completely) remove is EPocrates.

You can try two options. One...Spb Pocket Plus has a Safe Mode boot tool. Two...there is a program called MemMaid that cleans out any un-installed files that you have previous tried to uninstall. I own both of them. They both work great. I hope this assists you.

Assuming that link inhis StartUp folder isn't the solution, the next step might ne MemMaid and look at running processes :)
