New Axim X51 User - Some questions..
Hello,
I am a fairly new Axim X51 (QVGA, 520 Mhz) user.. I’ve had it for about a month now and it’s going great. Soft resets are common but I seem to develop tricks over time to minimize the chances of crashing the OS. Overall my experience is good – It’s amazing what this thing can do. It’s just too bad the OS is not that robust.. Sometimes it feels like it’s a beta version.
I have a few questions, any help would be appreciated.
- Task Manager: In all honesty, I’m a little disappointed in how the task manager displays the tasks. First off, it only has 3 levels of priority (L/M/H). Also, why does every task take 2 line of text, even if the 2nd line is blank? I miss my Palm Vx for this. Any suggestions or tips, replacement software? Looked around but haven’t found much information on this.
- Tray Icons: I only know of 3 applications that can go in the system tray.. BT, Wifi, and a Task Manager I downloaded from FdcSoft (GREAT app). I see some screenshots with a lot more icons. Is there a way to control what applications go there, or is it solely determined by the application itself?
- Bars on today screen: Any way to remove the horizontal bars on the today screen, between the various sections? No big deal here, but it would look better (depending on the skin)..
- Task manager and WiFi settings: It seems that every task manager hangs on the wireless settings screen. I tried Magic button and vbar, and both of them seem to conflict with that screen. Any tips here?
- Downloading files on the web: I’m having difficulties downloading attachments, with PIE or Webby. For example, Gmail. Unable to download attachments… ie: A small excel document with the .XLS extension. If I click on it, it opens in a text editor and shows garbage text. If I tap and hold on the attachment, doesn’t work. Any tips?
- Flash: I’ve installed the flash player and tried a few sites but.. I have yet to see a flash animation. How do I ensure this is properly working.. Any sites to test with? How do I troubleshoot this?
Other than that, this site is great. Admins, members, keep up the good work!:approve: I don’t know anybody with a PDA and it’s great to have this forum and be able to exchange tips and information.
Thanks,
Rob
