Changing filename colours
Hi guys and gals! Does anyone here have a suggestion about how I can change the colour of the text of a files name? (axim x51v with wm5) I have a whole load of repligo pdf files on my SD card and I want to be able to change the colour of each one once I have read it so that I know I have read it. I thought of putting a letter at the start of the filename (like 'R' for read) but that then means that the file gets filed under 'R' as well.....which I don't want. The software won't let me put a dot or tick at the beginning so I am left with trying to change the text colour.......
.......anyone have any ideas? ![]()

Still not resolved my first question but now I have another one as well.......
I'd also like to remove the date and (if possible) the filesize in the list of documents because the default doesn't leave much room for the filenames.......anyone have an idea of how to do this or if it's even possible?

The answer to your first question is that it cannot be done AFIK.
To your second question I assume that you are using the built in File Explorer and again, using this, the answer is the same - it cannot be done. What you can do, however, is to use either Total Commander (freeware) or Advanced Explorer (costs about $2 or $3) as your File Explorer. Both allow you to extend the space available for the file name simply by moving the partition line at the top of the lower window as far to the right as you want. The file size and date and time are then simply scrolled off the screen but they can be seen by using the bottom scroll bar. Advanced Explorer does actually list the date but not the time (Total Commander lists both). It also lists the file attributes and Type.

Well, you can't change the text color in WindowsXP either. Unless you compress or encrypt the file. Even then you can't choose the color, its built in.
Anyway, I use Resco Explorer and it does list the files like you want. With no "details". However, you can't change the color (not even when its compressed or encrypted) which Resco does both off. I think Resco would be a good piece of software for you. It has network drive mapping, ftp, and a regitry editor. Plus other little goodies. Hope this helps. -Beav

Yes. Rexco is excellent. Probably the best File Explorer of all. I did not suggest it because I think it is over priced at $25. Advance Explorer is very nearly as good and also has a recycle bin (so does the latest version of Resco).
