Worried Problems with odclient.exe

Every time I turn on my Axim x51v it hangs for about 60 seconds while it tries to load odclient in the startup folder - it doesn't find it and gives me a 'can't find Programs\Funk Software\odclientce.exe can't be found' or something like that.... which I have to clear with the OK button on the dialog.
How do I ge this to stop doing this??

How do I create a 'bookmark' for the Startup folder?

TIA

PS - I need my wifi on all the time....

First try removing the shortcut to odclient in the windows/start up folder. If that dont work, make a odclient.exe file and place it in Programs\Funk Software. Go to notepad on a pc, and go to file, save. Go to all files, and type in odclient.exe. Then move the exe to the Programs\Funk Software folder.

What do you mean by bookmark. Like ie favorites. Go to File Explorer then go to /windows. Find the start up folder. Tap and hold, select copy. Go to /windows/favorites or /my documents. Tap and hold, select paste shortcut.
Now you wont have to waste time waiting for /windows to load.

If u want ur wifi on all the time, just enable it and dont turn it off. Youll notice a delay when u turn on and off, at least it does on my x50.

You can remove Odyssey from the startup folder by going to Windows\Startup in File Explorer, the tapping and holding on "odclientce.exe", then selecting Delete. Even with it deleted here, you can enable it anytime by going into Settings - Connection. You can also access wifi using the Dell wlan utility.

Question

Thanks for the reply.

I've deleted odClientCE.exe from the Startup folder but it still insists on trying to load and completing with an error messageg.

I've checked the registry for any hidden 'run' commands but nothing.

The file odClientCE.exe exists both in Programs\Funk Software\Odyssey Client and in \Windows

It is still taking more than 60 seconds to complete booting every time I remove it from the cradle or every time I power it up as it tries to load odClient.exe.

Any idea why this file can't be found on bootup when it is in both places it's supposed to be?

Any idea where else I can look for how to stop running it on startup?

TIA

start odyssey and at the bottom under 'settings' click on Exit. It should not start up the next time you reboot. Also you will have to exit from it every time you use it. If you don't specifically need the stuff that is in Odyssey, use WLAN instead. you also might want to turn off wifi before you turn off the pda.
