Adobe Reader 2 on X51v launches then disappears!

Adobe Reader 2 installs ok on the X51v, launches ok but disappears before the file can open. No error message ... it's just gone from the screen. Version 1 works properly.

Any ideas?

Have you tried a soft reset? Has it ever worked at all? Try completely uninstalling and then reinstalling. Also make sure v. 1 was completely uninstalled first.

I have noticed that same thing happens to me if I try and open a PDF file thru File Explorer or Total Commander. I click the file name, Adobe starts to open, then goes away with no error message. However, if I open Abobe first and then chose the PDF file tru Adobe - File - Open, everything works fine.

If you know how to edit the registry, this should do the trick:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Reader4.0\Adobe\Viewer

change EULA from "0" to "1"

Evidently the initial license agreement screen is the culprit.

I don't have such problem on my 51v. Maybe because I use a green pack instead of installing it.:rolling:

Since this thread started, I've been trying out Adobe more and have also encountered a similar problem (Adobe doesn't launch at all) and I'm running WM2003SE. However, a soft reset and/or temp file cleanup alway seems to resolve it. I haven't tried the suggested registry hack yet though.

If you've already accepted the license agreement, EULA = 1

Hm, apparently I did not accept the agreement since I don't seem to have that entry.

Adobe Reader 2.0 on WM 5.0

Hi guys, this is my first post.

I have been trying to use Acrobat Reader on My X51V with a few problems. I had it working for a while and now I can't transfer pdf files through ActiveSync.
When trying to uninstall and reinstall it doesn't let me uninstall from my PC (says it can' run dll). But it has uninstalled it from the PDA.

Any ideas? It does seem to cause people a lot of problems.

Is there any other pdf reader software that anyone is happy with for Windows Mobile 5.0?

PocketXpdf works like a charm. I've never had any problems with it.
