Next-Gen PDA's to rival the Axim's
Just reading
this article and it seems there are a few really cool WM5 devices on the way, in particular the Mio PT200.
If Dell are going to release another PDA it will have to be one hell of a performer!
(Sorry if this has been posted already, I've been on holiday in Mallorca)

If you took a x50v or x51v and added a huge internal harddrive, and a digital camera, youd have the ultimate pocket pc.

That Mio looks like it'd be great with movies/games (controls on both sides, 20gb hd). Other than that, most look like current pdas with phone capabilities.

Cool! The PT200 comes with a built in tv-tuner!

To pack that much hardware, it has to be the the size of a Playstation PSP.

LOL, how much size will you give up for performance. Is the axim really that bad at doing what it needs to do?

Wow. I'm interested in the Mio now already. I wonder what kind of processor it has and if it has the 2700g.
In that case, i'm a 110% buyer.

The only downside to the axim, imho, (other than the sluggish performance at times) is the storage. If it had even half the storage of the average ipod, it would blow everything else out of the water. The frustration with having a device capable of replacing a portable audio/video player and doing so much more is that it is still crippled by the limited availability of storage. Even with the current sd/cf/microdrives, it would still be so much better if they would make a device like the axim in size (not over an inch thick like the mio) that had maybe a 20+gb hard drive onboard. How can it be so hard to make that available in a small package when the technology is already available to do so?
