Question How to control .CAB install location?

Hi There!!!

I am trying to understand how to control the location where programs are installed too on my new X51v. The CABINSTL utility seems to perform this function for older PPC operating systems, but states the following for WM5 -

NOTE: You can use CabInstl with WM2005 for show content of cab files, install and unpack it, BUT system location dialog is prefer and will used anyway.

Does this mean that CABINSTL can't control the location where programs are installled on the X51v running WM5?

Best Regards,

OzeCam.

PS - Recently I purchased my first PDA, an X51v. The input/correspondance of AximSite members greatly assisted in my decision to purchase an X51v instead of an iMate JasJar - a decision I don't regret. The freindly and helpful AximSite environment is somthing we should appreciate. Thankyou all !!!

PSS - I am a Newbie to PDAs and this is my first posting, so I am a little nervous. Please forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Welcome to Aximsite!

With WM5, you don't need CABINSTL anymore. Just watch the prompts on your device (not ActiveSync) when you install and you will be able to choose install location.

ozecam - welcome aboard! Thanks to your question, I learned something new today :) I never realized WM5 had its own version of "cabinstall" built in
