Again my apologies for a completely newb question so here it goes,

-Is there a software update for the X51v w/ WM5? I keep reading about a ROM update...what does that do?

-Where do I get it? Can someone put a link up?

No such thing as a dumb question.

Software update = ROM update for the most part. The current ROM version for the x51v is A06 (check at Start >>> settings >>> System >>> System Information). If the ROM Version shows A06 you're at the most current version.

ROM is basically the Operating System Image. This of the ROM as like Windows XP and the different versions are like Service Packs. The big difference is when you download a new ROM it is a complete upgrade ... meaning it includes Windows Mobile 5 and all the changes in one big download.

(atleast that's how I understand it to be)

Thanks for all your help and for making me at ease when it came to asking my question. I downloaded the A06 ROM and it went off without a hitch! Your assistance it very much appreciated!
