I noticed Dell is selling the Mobile 5 upgrade again to Axim X50v users. Has the bugs been worked out? I know they originally pulled it because of issues.

The same issues remain as there has not yet been any upgrades since the original one.

I tried to upgrade my x50v to Win Mobile 5.0 yesterday and almost lost it! I chatted with Dell online and was told DO Not Under Any Circumstances try to use the Dell Win Mobile 5.0 Upgrade path for the X50 or x50v. Dell is now saying it is unstable and can lead to real problems.......Duh!!..... I was able to get back to Win 2003SE and restore my system to functioning! But they still have the link to the CD on the web so???????

Seriously - don't do it, I went there, far too painful. Got my X50v back on WM2003SE and its the best way to be.

I upgraded my X50v in January - and once I had sorted the "Activesync" auto launching issues ( very easy fix ). my device is fine..

The upgrade instructions issued with the upgrade were crap though - This could be where Dell need to focus their efforts...... Users may not have had as many issues if they easier to follow and the correct order !!

I am stuck in the middle of this upgrade - how did you do it?
I just purchased the Dell upgrade.
ActiveSync 4 went fine; it's the 2nd CD I am having problems with - does not start automatically, then choosing INSTALL UPGRADE does not really work; copies it to had drive and then when you start this copy gives you an error. On the other hand, browsing the CD and starting the UPDATE directly from the CD apparently works - seems to upgrade ROM OK but then what????
