Check out Ike's AWESOME Wi-Fi Guide ( http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=86191). I belive it includes dial-up as well. Chances are you will find your solution there.

Unfortunately, the WiFi Guide does not have any info on use of a modem (after all, a modem uses a wire and the Wi in WiFi stands for wireless :crooked:)

I've never used a modem with a PPC (no phone in the house) so the best I can offer is that you make sure the drivers are appropriate for WM5 and try using "The Internet" as the connection settings.

It is a Ambicom 56K CF modem. Yes it is compatible with WM5. The driver is preinstalled in WM5. I have done all the connection setting and my axim recognizes the modem. But I am unable to connect to the internet.

At what point does it not connect? Can you get the modem to dial your ISP and does it connect?

It is now working. Problem was because of wrong dial up password. Silly but true

Hi, I have a cF modem, did you have to put any specific settings in the COnnections WIzard to get it to work, or just the number, username and password.

I am getting the error message - no dial tone, but there is when I use the phone.
