LOL, Well If they would just fix the BT problems, and get ActiveSync running well I would not care if they never made another Windows Mobile.

I'm willing to pay for the upgrade, I don't expect it to be expensive, and they must not charge us expensive anyway, as long as there is improvement, well, i've bought the device, what is a small price if it improve a lot with new interesting feature. I'm buying the Axim just because to ease me out and also for the fun of it.

I hope that they include some more/better skins/todayscreens to go with WM5SE IF it comes out. If it never ends up coming out, then I hope that either Dell or Microsoft puts out some more, frankly I don't like wisbar and would rather just go with the microsoft stuff. I have had wisbar brick a machine of mine, and after that I just never have liked it.

Here is the roadmap they showed at MEDC 06:

And this is the info from the TechDays Windows Mobile roadmap presentation which they gave to all WM developers:

“Photon” (Q4 ‘07)
New, Flexible Shell
Modular Containers
“Yamazaki” CE kernel
Q1/Q2 ’08 Marketing Launch

“Crossbow” (Q4 ‘06)
Great mobile messaging
Advanced Business and Enterprise propositions
Strengthened phone experience
Faster, easier application development and distribution
Q1/Q2 ‘07 Marketing Launch

So really WM5 SE is more of a business/phone upgrade and judging from the TechDays Developing for Windows Mobile presentation (no product demo's sadly) should make it a better platform for .NET developers.

**EDIT**

Here is the release roadmap from TechDays:

Haven't we already gotten the upgrade to Windows Mobile 5.0 that is due in 2006, the MSFP? I thought the AKU 2.X was essentially the "upgrade"

No, the AKU updates are essentially like service packs. AKU 3.0 is due later this year but OEM's probably won't roll that out until 2007 (certainly Dell anyway!)

I still have my Axim X30 312mHz. I'll wait for WM2005 SE or a new Axim comes out. Then I will buy one. I'm going to a foreign country anyway, so I can wait. WM2005 will probably be around for a while. I wonder if I buy my Axim around the time WM2005 SE is released, I can get a free upgrade.

I want a better PIE that will be like opera/netfront combined and I want the occasional glitch problems fixed.

As far as I'm concerned, an upgrade is Dell's last Hurrah, in the PDA business. If they do not offer an upgrade GOOD RIDDENS DELL

So just a far fetched guess, maybe?
