Worried Does Adobe Reader Work?

Hi, all.

Can anyone tell me if Adobe Reader is compatible with Windows Mobile 5 and the X51v?

I would be surprised if it weren't, but I'm having trouble installing. The only version I could find on Adobe's site was 2.0, whose description doesn't mention anything beyond 2003 SE. When I try to install it, it fails and asks me to try installing to another location. Of course, whether main memory, SD card, or CF card, the results are the same.

Is there a later, compatible version that I have missed, is the problem something else, or am I just out of luck?

Works fine on my x51v. I would also recommend using the ForceHiRes applet with it to make it look decent though... basic Adobe tends to look very pixelated on a VGA screen like the x51v.

As to your installation problems.. I have no idea. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply.

In viewing your reply, I noticed the "Similar Threads" list at the bottom of the page. It seems that others have had the same problem; some people are able to install and others aren't. I downloaded the CAB file and tried to install that way, and it failed in the same manner.

There were several comments to the effect that version 1 works better. So I guess that's the next thing for me to try.

Amazing!

After I posted my reply, I read further through the related threads and found the solution that worked: deleting the Adobe user guide from My Documents before installing!

I have no idea why that works, but it does. Now to force VGA and see how it looks!
