Worried Excel shortcut Problem

I have a Dell Axim x51v. Several days ago I deliberately deleted some of the program shortcuts in "programs" in the start menu. I did it in order to organize my list of programs a little. However, it appears that I created quite a mess.

I deleted the Excel shortcut and now I cannot assign a shortcut button to Excel(as it was before). The only way to run the program is to go to the folder where the executable file is located or to run it from the Home menu, which I find quite boring.

Besides, my .xls files are no more associated with Excel. When I tap an excel file it says that there is no a program associated to open the file. I can open files only through file>open after starting excel in one of the ways explained above.

Could anyone suggest me how to fix this without hard reset?

When you go to /windows to open excel tap and hold on it and select copy. Then go to windows/start menu/programs tap and hold and select paste shortcut.

That will solve one problem. The other is easy to solve with third party tweak apps.

Thanks a lot. Could you tell the name of one such program?
