Soft Reset
How long does it take to soft reset your 51v? Mine takes about 1 1/2 min. This seems to be a long time.

Don't have an Ax X51 but, 'bout 20 seconds on the Axim X50v.
However, soft reset is our "friend."

Soft-reset time depends also on how many startup programs you have, and what you have on your today-screen.

Wow!! So mine take 3 times as long. Using MemMaid I see I have 6 startup programs. I have 3 items on my today screen (Date, PhatPad Today, and Resco Today plugin). I also use the Resco Today Plugin to place program icons on the today screen. I would like to figure out how to make mine quicker. Any ideas on what might be slowing mine down?
Thanks for the responses!!

Soft Reset less often? Your options are either reset less often or get rid of some of the today screen plugin's.

You can also remove the startup items that you don't need. I removed my Wireless and Bluetooth icons that appear at the bottom area - you can still access these functions through the settings. I don't use my wireless and I have a larger icon for the Bluetooth in iLauncher so I don't need these two smaller icons to waste space on my todayscreen (as well as waste time loading). I also removed Odyssey. The only two items I have on startup are MagicButton and FileDialogChanger.

It takes my X51 35 seconds. "Stock" Startup programs plus: Batti, SBC Time, ADB Weather, vBar and cLaunch.

60 seconds to fully functional pocket weather, pocketbreeze and ilauncher.
haven't fully configured everything yet, but also haven't had to soft reset as often, since i upgraded to x51v a12. So all in all, not too displeased with the time.

I will test right now, but just to let you know, according to MemMaid, I have 8 programs, as well as quite a few today plugins.
From the instant I press the reset hole, to when all today plugins are loaded, it takes 1 minuite and 15 seconds, and about 94 milliseconds. Windows Mobile screen occurs at about 35 seconds.

I love soft reset,
it does reallocate memory at the right places for troublesome apps

Are all these soft resets healthy for your Axim?

Just think of a soft reset as a necessary evil.
