Not until A12 I was regrettting about ditching my Palm T/T for 51v because it is so unstable and sluggish, but now 51v bests T/T in every way.

The Dell download page suggests that applications need to be re-installed after upgrade:

Dell recommends to only backup PIM data from a previous system and restore to a new system. All other applications should be re-installed again on the new system to make sure new features are not disabled.

This raises two basic questions:

1) Has anyone had any issues restoring applications from a system backup under A06 and did it work OK?

2) What "new features" could be disabled?

good question......I just got my Axim 51 and am debating upgrading to A12

When I got my replacement it had A06 on it. I didn't even try installing any software. I first got the AS4.2 and then went ahead and did the A12 install. I had some prob lems with ZA getting the AS to work. I finally deleted ZA (basic) and everything was fine. The only problem I find is battery drain overnight which seems to be more than I would expect but not something I feel concerned about.

I can't tell much difference between the A06 rom with FS and A12. I still have the WSOD issue with both.

I did the upgrade a week after A12 rom is released and so far I have no problem at all. Everything seems to be loaded faster but I don't know if its because of the better Rom or its the benefit of cleaning up old junk....

Just went from A06 to A12, after messing with BT stack issues - everything connecting fine now.

All running well on X51V-A12

My unit has had A12 for almost a week, resets are quicker and the system is definatly more responsive. Just make sure you follow the directions for upgrading.
