What to do - 2003 or Win Mobile 5????

I don't know if I should stick with the Win 2003 on my Axim X50V OR attempt to upgrade to in Win Mobile 5. Not too sure what all the advantages are.

Anyone here tried both, and like the Win 5 better?

Many have had problems with WM5 when installed on the X50.From what I read in this site I wouldn't recoment the upgrade.

I have thought about it as well. The unit works for me now so I am not sure what the upgrade will do or change how I use the unit. I have read stories of units becoming inoperable after the change. Not something I want to try right now.

I thought about upgrading, but after reading all of teh problems others have had, I decided not to. I'll wait until they come out with something that works.

If sticking with X50v use 2003 SE no question. If you really want to use Mobile 5, your only real option is to go for the X51 series. I have an X51v and love it...

WM5 on x50v worked fine for me initially with all the tricks suggested in these forums, but it ultimately became buggy as hell, locking up and sucking battery life. after a near brick experience rolling back to WM2003SE, dell tech support solved the problem by replacing it with an x51v wunning WM5. x51v with WM5 A12 ROM update is as stable as x50v with WM2003SE. if you do not need the functionality of WM5, i would suggesy leaving it at WM2003SE. or, take your chances.
