It happens to me on every soft reset for me. It has happened on every version of Dell WM5 ROM I have used. It only occurs after I load my VPN software and it does not matter which supplier (NCP, Bluefire, Apani or Anthasoft). It is somehow related to Oddesey and it is in the registary. It does not happen on any of my WM5 iPAQ's.

I am not running Odyssey and it is disabled but this still happens sometimes. Not sure how it could be related to Odyssey. Can you give more info as to why you think so?

Odyssey may not be called by you but it is called up in the Startup menu under windows. I don't know if it actually starts or not but it is there.
Also when I spent a few weeks working with the NCP Secure VPN people on this problem and others Odyssey was called out many times in some of the different registary location I was asked to edit. I have since removed all the registary edits NCP suggested I add (hard reset). There are many registary locations where Odyssey is enabled or disabled. Also Odyssey is the only major difference between the Dell and iPAQ that is easily visable to the non technical user i.e. me.

Yea Odyssey is in the startup files. I have A12 and it doesn't do that to me. I guess the best test would be to hard reset and before installing anything, see if it does it.

I just tested it. WiFi and BT off, softreset. It came back on both disabled. I dunno. Maybe this is the start of the battery bug. Do this. SoftReset and while the icon is moving, put the device down and let it go into standby. After 8 hours (overnight) see if the axim has full battery or dead.

I called Dell China Support Hotline today and were told it was a bug in A12. No fix is available from Dell yet.

Does anyone have a quick fix....?

Honestly, I have noticed this problem since I first got my Axim (A01).

I have not been able to resolve this problem.
