A12 says that it's trying to connect wirelessly when wireless is off

I upgraded to A12 right when the news hit. I'v been loving it, especially how quickly it connects to a wireless router. But now occasionally when I bring the Ax back from stand by it shows me that it is looking for a wireless router with the icon on the top of the screen. i know that it shouldn't be because wireless is turned off. The only way I can stop it is to turn wireless on and then turn it back off. This has always solved the problem. But I think that this is lame behavior. Does any one have any insight in to this problem? Has any one else experienced this?

Do you have any VPN software set up on yur Dell? I have found with BlueFire VPN and with NCP Secure VPN after a soft reset WiFi will show turned on when it is not. Only way to turn it off is to shut the Dell down then turn it back on and now you can shit WiFi off.

No, I'm definitely not using a VPN. But I am experiencing the same issue that you describe.

You mean the two tiny arrows swapping directions constantly right?
I've got the same problem with my A11 too. Enabling then disable WLAN fixes it.

Doesn't seem to affect the battery tho...

In discussions with the VPN providers it has been described as a conflict with the Oddesey client. I have disabled Oddesey but that did not help.

I don't know if it's A12 or some thing else. All that I know is that it began for me after the upgrade. All that I want to know is what causes the issue and does any one know how to fix it.

I see that too but it doesn't really seem to do anything. If that is the only problem I have I think I will ignore it since I know it isn't really going to connect because wifi and bt are turned off.

Just for the record, I have a12 and have noticed the same thing. It did not start out that way, but has been a recent development. For the life of me, I didn't note when it started. you would think i would know better.

I have disabled odyssey and I don't use VPN. I do have hitchhiker installed. Turning on wifi and turning it on again does seem to fix it.

I'm assuming it is a registry entry that may have been triggered by one of the "tweaks" that I have installed. I'm also assuming that to find out the cause and fix it would also be better as well.

I am not saying it is a12, but noting the condition of the ppc that exhibits the behaviour. As I said I suspect a registry entry by a program or tweak. I also think it would be more "elegant" if it didn't happen.
