Need Oultlook Alternate

Hello, I recently purchased a 51v, I was a plam user. I would like to use a alternate calander. I don't want to intermix my work calender with my personal one. So I am looking for a calender and address book that I can input data using my pc but that will sync with my Axim. Don't like outlook (unless I can run 2 completely separate copies on my pc and sync only to one. I liked the palm calander & address book, but I love my Axim PDA. Hope this makes sense. --

P.S. I seen a few suggestions like AgendaFusion 8 & Pocket Imformant but it appears that those are Outlook enhancements, I don't want to use Outlook at all.

If you are referring to the desktop and not the PDA, then you can use Time and Chaos in combination with ChaosSync for PPC. You can find them here:
www.chaossoftware.com

Also, using Agenda Fusion or Pocket Informant on the PDA will still allow you to use those applications on the desktop. As far as PIM on the PDA itself, they will all use the Pocket Outlook databases, which is what the Chaos products will sync to anyway.

EDIT: Apparently the databases for WM5 don't allow 3rd party programs to access them the way WM2003 did. Chaos software does have a program that will sync Outlook to their program seamlessly, however. Sorry but that 's the closest I've seen for WM5.

I don't do this, but in theory it should work. I don't use outlook. so when I use activesync I do not sync any of the PIM information. If I kept information in those files that was strictly business and did not want them on my pda I could do that.

I do keep my calendar in Lotus Organizer. I sync that information with pdasync from laplink. It allows me to pick different organizer files to sync with my axim. I have a special cleaned up rather lean organizer file just for contacts that sync with my phone, ax and is available from my pc. My main organizer file has my calendar, tasks and a larger contact and note list.

When I sync I get the right files and all in one operation.

This will work if you don't want to keep more than one combination of data set on the pda. You could also mix and match contacts, tasks and appts from outlook and lotus. organizer can be had as a separate app for not many $$. hope this helps.
