Gmail messages disappear!
I have set up a couple of accounts and can send and receive ok from my Axim.
I have enabled pop in settings on my pc. On my mobile device on send and receive new messages appear, but will not stay in the inbox. When I hit send and receive again, they are deleted. I have found a few posts reporting this, but no solution. It is not the end of the world, just a pain! Any ideas?

try hitting it once, if you experience problems, you need to go into the settings of gmail and enter your choice. Don't know why this happens....

Same here. Just happened yesterday. I can't replicate it when it happens. Does anyone know the cause of the problem, before discussing the solution?

There are settings in your POP manager of Gmail (online). It's default is to move them to 'archive' once downloaded via POP. You can change this.
Alternate fix (if you want them archived only when downloading from your PC) - choose to download headers only and include so many KB of message (I have mine set at 300 kb).

OK... edge777, what you said seems to explain why once a message in the Gmail POP server is downloaded to my axim, the same message will not be downloaded again to my axim because the server has already archived it. What I didn't understand, until I read your explanation, is why the mail client in my Axim MIGHT delete a "header" message automatically if the client makes a subsequent request to the POP server to download the full version of the same message. Is it because the client anticipates the full version of the message will arrive and therefore deletes the header version before the full version is actually downloaded completely? So... if the full version of the message for some reasons doesn't arrive (e.g., a poor connection), the client will not have the full version as well as the client version?
I don't know how a POP server works; I throw this reasoning out hoping to learn from (and be corrected by) the experts.

I thought it was just me that was having this problem
![]() Ended up doing what chungasrevange's did, make a new folder and move everything from the inbox there when I received mail. I haven't set up any other email accounts, does this happen only with Gmail or will I get the same problem with my isp provider email as well?
