Dell didn't "develop" the x51v. They purchased it from HTC (High-Tech Computer) and stuck their logos all over it.

3) A release could just be for manufacturing reasons. Let's say Dell finds a battery maker that's cheaper but they need to read the power status differently. They add the code to all future releases but need to get one to their factory right away.
that right:) with that versions ( test version are X0x-Xxx...) number is taken from them...

and DELL stoped developing but not support...there will be next revision

Actually,
my mother works for Microsoft:hide: . She doesn't know a thing about ppc's besides her trio, or blackberry, or what ever. The point is that the word isn't around in the MS circles and I have seen some people speaking about an A14 ROM here. I just thought that there may be public plans about it issued by Dell.

P.S. A12 isn't as great as I thought it was when I first upgraded.

Interestingly, when speaking with someone in PDA tech support trying to resolve my X50v/WM5 & dead x51v issues, he said that he actually works with the team that develops and tests the ROMs for the Axim. He knows them all very well infact and said that they are still working on updates to BOTH the X51 AND X50 with WM5 - I asked him why the forever long delay and he said - Well, the team is just one person and he is more of a liason between Dell and HTC. So - this may be a good reason for the long delays....

Perhaps we should focus our efforts at 'harassing' HTC for updates

Of course - I'm excited for AKU3 because it supports WPA2 (hopefully AES, since WPA2 requires AES support).

Here's an interesting read about the different AKUs http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/art...m-aku-en.shtml Interestingly looks like we've missed out on a newer functional version of the Wireless Switcher and many other things that were replaced with 3rd part products in the AKU2 series.
