For me it was a downgrade. Unless there is a fix/workaround Activesync no longer will sync over a network. That was probably the most important feature for me and it was removed for "security reasons". Seems they did not even give you a way to enable it (unless something has changed).

Besides that I had lots of instant reboots and my bluetooth was really buggy. Sure people worked around it but I saw no reason to even try given that I could not sit in my favorite coffee shop and VPN into my house and synch with my computer.

is network sync brought back with activesync 4.2?
havent used it since 3.8 so i m not sure

I hear alot about not being able to sync over wifi or bluetooth with WM5, yet that is how I do most of my syncing. The only thing I have to cradle up for is my files and favorites.
