If I were you I would read back aways in the forums before you upgrade to WM5.There have been many problems and most people rolled back.I don't think Dell recomends the upgrade anymore.
I won't even venture a guess on the ratio but many stated it was working fine after a lot of tinkering only to have problems in a few weeks.Someone even posted their conversation on Dell chat about Dell not recommending the update.A few posted WM5 messed their Axim up so bad they had to get it replaced under warrenty.I certainly wouldn't concider upgrading unless you have warrenty remaining.
believe me dude dont do it, you'll be back to wm2003 in weeks/days

How do I get a replacement? I bought my X50v where Dell first launched this model.
I tried last night to upgrade using the WM 5 CD and couldn't get it to complete the upgrade. I went on Dell's chat line and after telling the tech rep of my problem he offered to send me a X51V. I should be getting it in a few days.
If you still have warranty left on your unit, go online to Dell's chat and seek a replacement. There is a poll on this site with many postings of people who have been successful in getting Dell to replace the x50v with the x51v.
hummmm... I too was considering the upgrade and after reading this maybe I _do_ want to try to upgrade *evil grin* lol!
Question: did they make you send them your X50 or did you just get a second PDA for free?

i would contact dell and ask for a refund of you money that you paid for the upgrade CD. as i have been through hell with techs to try and get my X50v replaced with an X51. eventually got them to give me a refund for the X50v and ended up buying a X51v.
Dell's tech support comfimed to me in an e-mail that the X50v is not compatible with WM2005. why do you think they pulled the upgrade CD from the list of software upgrades available for the X50v.
Dell should do the right thing and use the data they already possess to contact everyone hoodwinked by the fictitious WM5 upgrade to the X50V and refund ASAP.
