More WiFi connection problems with A12 ROM

I'm having way more problems with making a WiFi connection since updating to A12 on mt X51v.

With A06 about one in 10-20 attempts, the PPC was not able to make a conection to my Linksys WRT54GS router. Disabling and re-enabling WiFi a few times made things work again.

With A12 I'm not able to connect every second or third time. Checking the WiFi settings screen I see my connection show up as unavailable. Once there, I can't close the screen because it stops responding. Sometimes I can terminate the process from the Memory settings screen. Other times I need to do a soft reset.

I read that WiFi was working better with A12, but it's just the opposite in my case.

I don't think it's a signal strength problem since I've tried standing 5-10 feeat away from the router and seen the same problem.

Once I make a connection things seem to work OK. Signal strength indication is the same as with A06. It's just making the initial connection that really stinks.

Anyone else see this?

I have had the same unavailable problem but with a WM5 iPAQ not with my x51v. In my case I believe it was a problem between the VPN software I was using and the WiFi software. After hard reseting and switching to a different VPN software I had not had the problem. In my case the WiFi would connect but then go unavailable. When I tried to reconnect I would get a message about the driver for socket 2 missing. A soft reset or a reselection if the internal WiFi as the network card would allow the connection to be made again but then it would go right back to unavailable.
