Anybody finds SpbDiary slows down the Axim when powered up?
hi all,
just wanted to see if this is usuall or is it just my Axim. I only have two today-plugin active, iLauncher and SpbDiary. But whenever I turned my Axim on, it pauses for like 3-5 sec as if its loading something. But if I remove SpbDiary from the today plugin, the Axim response to taps / button right away after turn on. 1.) Anybody got this kind of behavior? 2.) Anybody knows of a good today plugin that deals with notes nicely? SpbDiary's biggiest selling point for me was the notes tab, from which I can easily search the title. So if anybody knows a decent notes-today plugin or even a decent not search util, I am willing to give it a try and ditch SpbDiary. Appreciate for any suggestions. Thanks, Joseph

I have SPB Diary and never noticed the problem until the other day when I installed iLauncher and everything slowed to a crawl. Even simple things like tapping on Start the menu was slow to render on screen.
I removed iLauncher and everything returned to being snappy. So I attributed it to iLauncher. Interesting that your experience is vice versa. I think the two programs just dont play well together.

Thats wierd. I just removed the iLauncher from the today screen and left SpbDiary as the only active plugin. It still pauses everytime after powered up. I just tried updating to the latest iLauncher as well. No help. I will check if the SPB support forum has any info.
Thanks MarcFou. Again, if anybody knows any good notes-today-plugin, please let me know. :> Thanks. Joseph

Hmmm... I wish I had more insight to your problem. You might look at SBSH Pocket Breeze. It does the same thing as SPB Diary.

Does PocketBreeze has the quick filtering like SPBDiary?
Quote:
I looked at their website's screenshot, it doesn't look like they have the quick filtering thing (the search panel) at the bottom of the screen like what Diary has. I think I tried both before I decided to buy Diary, but totally forgot if PocketBreeze has it. I am too scary to install anything new on my axim now given I needed it on the job. I would really appreciate if u (or somebody using PocketBreeze) can confirm that it does have the search-panel like function. Thanks, Joseph

Hello, jli!
Just want to inform you that Spb Diary 2.0 beta program has just been opened. You can find more details here. Could you please check if this slowness still happens with the new version of Spb Diary?

You could also try to set a loading delay, maybe your pda just gets too bogged down at start up
