X51v memory issues - help

This is my first post. Well, here goes.
I have an X51v and I can only use 1GB SD memory cards.
I had originally gotten a 2GB card but my x51v wouldn't read it all. Only showed 1 GB. The card is good, as a card reader reports 2GB of space.
Round and round with Dell, five (5) replacements later Icome to the understanding that it is WM5 issue, not Dell.
So, my question, is this a recognized problem or am I doing something wrong?
Does anyone have some insight for me?

Eric

ps. I promise my next post will be shorter.

Can you see the 2GB card properly in a PC-based card reader? People here use up to 4GB SD cards without problems, so I can't say it's a WM5 issue either - it sounds like you got a bad card, or else it's not correctly formatted.

Try using it on a card-reader and see what it says - and then try reformatting the card from within Windows to use FAT32 or something.

I've just bought a 4GB SD card for my axim x51v from a reputable ebay dealer
(FastMemoryMan).

Plugged into the Axim, it read as 4GB, yet Win2K via a USB reader
didn't see the card and wanted to format it.

Using Windows to format with FAT32 leaves the card reading as 1GB in
both the PC and the Axim.

However, If I then format the card with the Axim (resco file explorer)
the Axim sees it as 4GB and happily, so does the PC.

All very odd!
