Yes. I have the Seagate 8GB CF microdrive. It works flawlessly in my x51v.
You should have no worries.

Have anyone here tried to open an ipod video-60gb, and see if they use a microdrive. If so then does the 60gb microdrive work for the x51v.

I don't know about the iPod but I have an older Chinese branded MP3 player from Taiwan that had a microdrive in it. I took it out and stuck it in my Axim and it didn't work.
As for the 8GB I saw a thread on the Seagate one here while I was searching. The bottom line was that it works. So I ordered one a week ago.

I wouldn't say that the 60GB drive from the iPod video is likely to work, given that it probably doesn't have a microdrive (it's likely to have a laptop drive in there, IIRC), and also newer MP3 players (as of 2003) removed the TrueIDE interface from both card and firmware on the drive itself, to prevent people from harvesting the microdrives in the older players (see Zen Micro, iPod Mini, etc).

ipod doesn't use a CF microdrive. it uses a toshiba 1.8" hard drive, like this replacement drive.
http://www.welovemacs.com/mk6008gah.html (see how it's a lot bigger than a CF card)
the ipod minis used microdrives but they didn't have a CF interface -- you can't break open an ipod mini and use the drive in an axim. Though a couple years back, people discovered that the Creative Zen MuVo2 4GB had a 4GB CF microdrive inside. You could get the player for under $200, which was less than the cost of the drive and use it as a CF card.
