X51/Internet Explorer/Yahoo/Email

Hi everyone,
I am having real issues with Yahoo's Mail system on my X51 when using wifi. I need some help or suggestions. I just updated the ROM to A12 and that seemed to go smoothly.

1) Does anyone know what version of IE comes with Mobile 5? Yahoo wants version 6 or better.
2) Can the IE version on my X51 be upgraded, if so how?
3) What other way can I intercept my email via the internet and still get it on my PC with Outlook?

Here is the problem:
When I bring up IE and then Yahoo's Mail and then open an actual email, there are very small buttons marked Delete or Reply or Forward. But they don't work. When you tap them, a pop up menu appears saying things like "Select All Text" or Refresh Page", etc.
Am I missing a very simple setting somewhere?

Thanks

I believe IE on WM5 still reports itself as v.4 but it also lets servers know it is on a mobile device. For Yahoo! mail, open Yahoo mobile (http://mobile.yahoo.com) and sign in. You can then tap the mail link and access your email.

Internet Explorer cannot be upgraded (it's part of ROM) but there are alternative web browsers (Opera has become a favorite alternative but there are others, as well). You can also do a registry hack so PIE reports itself as v6 but you'll lose the ability to access mobile-specific sites (and as I just described, it's not necessary for Yahoo).

Thanks Ike,
If IE version is 4 and cannot be upgraded ( sucks), doesn't that mean we will not get any new features? There has to be a better way.

This works as long as I stay with Yahoo's OLD email app. If I try their new Beta version it fails again with the buttons not working.

Thanks

ROM updates occasionally include new PIE versions but, AFAIK, it will probably report as v4 to web servers. This really doesn't have anything to do with the real PIE version. Properly configured servers will see that it is mobile and redirect to the appropiate web version.
