PASSWORDS: How to protect a file only

I can protect the entire AXIM with the standard password feature. But that always turns on after X minutes in the middle of the night.

BTW, I was blamely AS for that nonsense.

So, I really only want to password protect one file & not the whole AXIM, how can I do that?

Thanks

resco explorer has an encryption feature, I don't know if this is what you're looking for.

you can either encrypt or compress (with a password) the fle you want. as jfoster193 said, resco explorer works beautifully for this.

Resco Explorer is the best software for any Axim.

NYX Encrypter - its free and works. Otherwise this is a built in feature of SPB Pocket Plus.

Nevermind, I found it. However, SPB only encrypts individual files, not folders. I'm going to look into NYX b/c I want to encrypt folders.

Anyone know how NYX works? It has a confusing interface with no instructions. It also looks like it just encrypts individual files, not folders. I appreciate any help.

One other thing - the default password utility is lame. I spent plenty of time looking for an alternative that works. Take a look at Pocket Secure http://totalpocketpc.com/ This might be a better option overall.

I think in most cases, you need to zip (or compress) a folder in order to password protect it. That becomes a long process, whether a utility does it in one step or two.
