I read in here about ROM v A12. i bought Axim x51v in May ( ie recently!) and I have ROM A08. Should I have A12? Should I upgrade? If so, how do I get A12 and what does the upgrade entail? Or is there no advantage to be had?

Yes! Mine also had A08, and I upgraded without any problems. A12 is much better.

I got the my Axim x51v yesterday and it has A12 on it.
Are there different versions of A12 as well?

Hi - so, how do I get A12 and is it an easy upgrade? Does it involve a hard reset? What known risks? Can you go back to A08 if there is a problem?

Get the update from Dell support site. Yes a hard reset is involved. No risks if you do it right...meaning...when you install it follow the instructions perfectly and when you hard reset DO NOT TAKE IT OUT OF THE CRADLE AT ANY POINT UNTIL IT IS DONE. I think you can roll back to A08 but I hear its a giant pain in the ass.

I downloaded A12 and installed it today. This is much better. The sync problems of A08 - ie not picking up syncing in cradle - have gone away. The screen responsiveness problem upon switching on - ie took an age to be responsive - has cleared up and now it is immediate. Now I love this X51v!
