I use mdict:
http://www.octopus-studio.com/product.en.htm

There are several free dictionary files on the site. You can also get a version of Wikipedia for mdict here:

Wordnet is very good, it is mentioned before, you also have a small and simple dictionary with MSReader ( useful because is simple to acces from ebooks) and the full webster from pocket e-sword (do a google search for it).

I use PocketDict from www.cellosoft.com and have been happy with it.

I'm using octopus Mdict, and they've got a japanese dictionary.

However after installing it, all japanese characters show up as boxes. I've already installed the MS gothic font to the main memory.

Has anyone gotten it working?

My vote is for Mdict as well. As for the Japanese, I am using CE-star. It's a Chinese program but has Japanese support. There supposedly is a free way to add Asian font support but I don't have the time to try it out.

BTW, what Japanese dictionary is avaiable for MDict? I have been looking for one in a while. I know there is a JDic one available and Mdict has tool to convert the dictionary files but I just don't have the time to try it out.

Hey, thanks for the Wikipedia suggestion, I dld'ed it and it's great. My only question is how do you get the latest version of wikipedia (since obviously it get's updated VERY often). The file provided at that link doesn't give an date of conversion, at least none that I noticed.
