I was wondering how you all separate your apps... for example, what goes into main memory of the axim, and what goes into CF/SD.

I've installed my most important apps into main memory, for example Opera, TCMP, xnViewer, skype and so on. Everything else goes into SD.. stuff like pocketinformant, spb finance, wififofum, hitchiker, etc.

The reason for this is because I'm likely to switch SD cards, say when I travel, I might insert my camera's SD card and use opera in main memory to upload my photos somewhere on the web.


What is the impact lots of programs installed into main memory will have? I've heard about a filesys issue.. but am not familiar with it.

As a rule of thumb, the only things I install in Main Memory are Today Screen Plug Ins. Everytying else goes to my SD card. You make a good point about switching out your SD for your camera's card....I got lucky, my camera currently has a microdrive, and my CF slot is still open:)
