I was wondering if there are any separate apps for these:

1. world currency converter with internet rate update, ideally from xe.net. No fancy graphics required.

2. World time clock, no fancy graphics either.



I was previously using mobimate mobitravel and it took up a huge amount of space. Space is no problem, but I felt it was slowing my activesyncs whenever they were performed.. probably while downloading the satellite maps. Well, it was an expensive $75 lesson... go for something simpler!

For $converter, try freeware PocketXChange at www.bbpsoftware.co.uk

I'd REALLY like free/cheap, low overhead world time clock - no luck so far. They all have MANY bells-n-whistles, high price, memory hog, cutesy graphics.

MXConverter is good for currency (and many other) conversions. www.trancreative.com .

I tried Pocke x change and could not get it to work. I get error saying it could not load type OpenNetCf.Windows.Forms.ButtonEx from assemby.

Edit: I got it to work by installing the netframe to device and software to card. It is a nice program for converting currency. The program I mention above will allow for 3 currency converting first currency into the other two currencies.

You might want to check out Fizz Traveler. It has world time and currency converter and weather and airport delays, which are updated when you have an internet connection. I use it on my Cingular 2125, but I believe it's also available for PDAs.
