Can CF /SD cards be swopped?

Hi All
I am a new X51 user. I use a Mac which means that I can't install programs easily. My friend however also has a X51 and a windows XP PC. If I send him an SD card (he is in Tokyo and I am in N Japan) and ask him to install programs on the card (programs that I buy) will those same programs work on my X51? In other words can programs on cards be swopped between machines or is there a registery process that must be undergone to make them recognisable?

Any program that writes a registry entry will not work unless you know the programs entries. Also programs that you pay for often use a combination of names to generate a key for registering, so it seems unlikely.

a bettet solution would be to get the cab files for you programs which you could then install and register yourself.

Yes, look for .cab files that you can transfer to and run from your Axim. These are the native installation files for PocketPC. If you are forced to transfer files by sneakernet, make sure your friend copies the .cab file onto your memory card. Ideally, if you cannot extract the .cab yourself, and must rely on your friend, perhaps he could email, ftp, or host the files so that you could download them.
