Axim X51V consumes most of the battery in one night.

My X51V is consuming the battery almost entirely in one night.
- It is sleeping in soft powerdown mode. ( when in hard powerdown, mode its battery lasts very well)
- NO programs are listed as running
- WIFI is disabled
- I am running A12 version

How can I discover what is doing this? It makes the AXIM unusable.

Thanks

Have you applied the fake server trick? Have you installed and removed a program recently? If yes try to apply the fake server again.

Also, Check before you dim off the screen that the processor setting is on auto and it reading 104 and not high 624 MHz. In addition, close all programs.

If that dos not sort the problem, then try to disable battery monitroing software/plug-in if possible and see what will happen.

I had a similar problem with my Axim after I installed the A12 ROM. The battery life would go down tremendously in a short period of time, and it would take forever to turn back on/lock up sometimes. What I ended doing was a hard reset. Since I did that, everything has been working out great again.

No its a hard reset. Mine did the same thing. WiFi and BT were off. No programs running. Screen turned off.

Wake up, dead.

Do a Hard Reset again and install everything from scratch. If you want, I would install a few programs at a time and keep an eye on it. You could be running a program that doesn't mess well with WM5 or A12, like a memory leak.

For the most part a HR will fix it. Cheers

Yup, a full backup and HR did a great job. I then just reinstalled a few essential programs and it seems to be running well. ie: 4 hours staying at the same battery % in soft shutoff mode. Before, the battery would be 1/3 gone in 4 hours.

Is there a utility that will log the CPU cycles used by every program, much like Task Manager??

Thanks
