Can you play videos and music on a network drive?

I am trying to play videos and music that I have on my desktop computer through my x51v using my wirless internet connection in my home. I am able to browse my shared files through the x51v file explorer, but I can't play the files that way. So I next opened Media Player on the x51v and tried to open a url of my desktop share but this wouldn't work either. Is there anyway to play networked content? I don't want to have to copy all my music and videos to my sd card in order to play them on my x51v when they are already all shared on my home network.

Thanks

well I found that you can do this by using TCPMP

but through Windows Media Player and File Explorer I don't think it's possible.

I use Resco Explorer or Total Commander (free) instead of File Explorer.

you can use file explorer...its just clunky

you have to tap-hold on the file then choose copy. go somewhere on your axim and do a paste shortcut. open the shortcut and it'll play

get resco file explorer...way way way way better file management tool than the built in file explorer

I agree! Or at least Total Commander for a much better alternative to File Explorer. :approve:
