1. Once the Axim is booted on, seems after going into autosuspend mode, using the quick button to directly reactivate into my desired application, the process is slow or even stalls on the Today screen. I have tried to eliminate other programs hogging memory but still having this problem. I have the new ROM upgrade A12, which did help with speed. I could use help on freeing up memory or whatever else is slowing the process of coming out of suspend.
2. On my palm, I used JOT to write. While it lasted, it was a great program for letter recognition, better than the transcriber on the AXIM x51v and did not hog a lot of memory. However, JOT is now defunct so will never be available for PPC. I have read of another program that is great for transcribing and auto-completion but alas, was quoted to be a memory hog. Suggestions would be welcomed on what others are using or how to improve my ability to use the native Transcriber (I think I have tried about every technique but writing left-handed and backwards)

CalliGrapher works very well for me. It takes up 2.13 mb as a program in storage; not sure what it requires to run, but I've used it in combination with TextMaker and PhatNotes regularly, and the system remains quite responsive. Takes a moment to load, but no big deal. It has impressed me, and its a favorite and indispensable application on my Axim

Calligrapher and Phatnotes
The info on this looks very tantalizing. Wondering which of the Phatnotes you possess--std or professional.
I could see creating a database with Phatnotes that is easily indexed, as opposed to using PPC-Word with its cumbersome search mode. However, is Phatnotes that much better? From the advertisment on Phatnotes, it looks like it blows Word off of the charts, as far as capabilities. HSTN--wondering if you have noted much of a slowing of opening programs, with all of this in memory. Also, would like to know, can be databases be stored on a card or must they remain in memory with the apps? Thanks for your input.
