I installed MS gothic on my x51v to view Japanese characters, but it didn't work. Characters still showed as boxes.

And so, now i'm removing it, but there's a problem. I used the settings-> remove applications to remove it, but it left the msgothic.ttc file in my \windows\fonts directory.

When I try to delete it, it gives me a 'permission denied' type of error. Soft resetting and powering off do nothing and I still can't remove it. Syncing with my pc and using file explorer to remove the file also give the same error.

It's taking up 4 mb, so is there any way I can remove it?

Here's a hint - move it out of the Fonts folder into something like "My Documents", then delete it from there. Personally, I use the eChina#5 package to view Japanese, so I don't have a 4MB+ file in the Fonts folder.

 

I had a similar problem, I installed some Hiragana and Katakana fonts for some program awhile back, and today when I went into the Mirror-Mode application it was all in Japanese. I tried to delete them in the Fonts directory and got the same error. Had to cut-and-paste into another directory and then delete them there. Thanks Haesslich
