Fall back a month early… what the...?

Last night at midnight my Axim popped up a message on the screen saying it had adjusted itself for daylight saving time and to check my clock settings. When I checked, my time zone was set correctly, but the clock was an hour behind what it should have been. Of course… since DST change is not for another 4 weeks. Did anyone else have this happen?

I checked my PC and the time zone and clock settings were all correct there. I guess if it didn't happen to anyone else I can blame my tinkering in Windows Vista.

Okay, my recollection is a bit vague, but there was something in the news about certain areas potentially changing when DLS was in effect... possibly got incorporated into a Vista beta?

Yeah… I just read about that! Starting in 2007, the DST changes are going to be in March/November instead of April/October, extending DST for about a month. Still a bit strange that it would do it on October 1 and at midnight rather than 2 am.

I hear Summer vacation is starting in March, as well. And to make room for it, Spring Break is in December. That pushes back the holiday season to October, and we're going to be celebrating Halloween on July 4th. I still don't know when the #*$@ we're gonna celebrate independance day.

Yes, it is this administration's initial recognition of global warming; an extended Summer. ;)

No, this administration will recognize global warming when they start to place sandbags on the white house lawn.
