Can't remove RealPlayer

I installed Real Player on x51v WM5 (A12) thinking it would link me nicely with Rhapsody Real on my desktop. No Real won't recognise me as having any related music files anyway and WMA happily plays files I thought I'd maybe need Real for. So, I might as well take Real off my Axim.

Thing is it just won;t remove - either locally on the Axim or by Active Sync. Anyone?

Funny other feature is that when I run Active Sync and try to remove programs they all show up in the little Add/Remove Programs window as 0.0 k. I've never had that display before. Is something odd happening or should I not worry?

Try doing a soft reset first, then use File Explorer and go to Program Files (either in device or SD card), where you will find a folder entitled Realnetworks. See if you can delete that folder. If you can, you can also delete the icon from the Programs menu, by going to Windows\Start Menu\Programs. Real Player should then be gone... Good luck.

I followed your suggestion. Certainly looks like it is not there. Of interest when I "uninstalled" the process indicated that it was not completely removed and asked if I wanted to remove it from the "installed programs" list. I said "Yes".

It's probably mostly removed, then. You could search for files containing the word "real", and delete them if they had belonged to Real Player.

You could also use a utility such as MemMaid or SkTools (demos available) to remove the leftover bits.
