Podcasting for WM5

Hi,

I've been looking for a solution to enable me to listen to PodCasts off-line (for instance, whilst driving) using my Dell Axim x50v w/ WM5.

The "best" solution I've found thus far is using Skookum Mobile installed on my PDA, and downloading the relevant podcasts through Wi-Fi whenever available. However, this is slllllllooooow...

It seems to me an easier way would be to use one of the many Podcast clients for my Desktop PC, then make the Podcast audio files that are downloaded available to be sync'd to my PDA whenever I cradle it.

Ideally I don't want to manually have to drop files onto the PDA - I'd like to be out of the office and think "I'll listent to a Podcast" and have the latest titles available to me.

Can anyone suggest the best way to do this?

Desktop Podcast client with files dropped into an Activesync Synchronised Folder?

A good quality Podcast client for the Axim that perhaps works through Activesync rather than Wi-Fi?

Would appreciate any suggestions! :approve:

Hi Radimus,

Thanks for the link. I did look at Juice, but it seems to be just a Windows client.

This would be fine for downloading the Podcasts to my Desktop - but what would be the best way to make sure they then end up on my PDA without any manual intervention (i.e. when I sync, they automatically get copied to my PDA).

podcasts on axim

Hey,

I am using iTunes to download the podcasts to my desktop and WindowsMediaPlayer(WMP) to sync the mp3 files to Axim, directly to the SD card (yes, WMP can sync to the SDCard or CFCard on the Axim)

WMP10 has a sync tab and it syncs the files pretty nice.

Ravi.

FeederReader is good at finding enclosures, downloading them to a card, and still letting you do other things while they're getting pulled down - then you can set it (on a car journey) to play all enclosures of a certain type (audio) and so on ...
