i'm sure it's a password problem
I've a X51v and a Netgear WPN802 Acess Point with WPA-PSK encryption.
First my key was about 14 character long - the axim conected and disconnected permanetly

now i changed the kay to 8 characters and it works!
(as long as i used the old system A06 i had no problems with the long key; now A12)

I have been using the following setup without any problem.

- WPA with 60+ characters password
- Disabled SSID broadcast
- Using Dell WLAN Utility
- A12 ROM

azcoyte,
I'd be careful with Odyssey Client... After using that program, my PDA would freeze up and in the end I had to do a hard reset... Can't you use the built in windows mobile client? Once you disable Odyssey Client and you enable wireless, you'll be able to see the wireless tab under Network Cards (loacted at Start, Settings, Connections, Network Cards). BTW you can only see the wireless tab if wireless tab is enabled.

Hope this helps,
