What really annoys me on WM5

File Explorer program - no Properties, no possibility to check available/free space. Total size of a disk or folder?

Format function - not available e.g. format Storage SD card.

Backup - warning SD card has been removed or is Read only. Please insert card. I try repeatedly, with different SD Cards, get same Error. No such Error with previous backup.

Picture & Videos program - one sees only Thumbnails, no possibility to change the Preferencies to show Details, I have many folders, and would prefer to see the name of folders only, that would show larger number of them simultaneously.

SAVE function - when working with a file in Word Mobile, there is no possibility to save a file and keep working. Only Save as, with rewrite dialogue. Excel Mobile has a save function CONTROL + S.

Excel Mobile has function SORT among TOOLS, it can sort by Columns / vertically/ but not by Rows /horizontally /. This is very important and basic function with tables.

When writing national characters in Word Mobile the CONTROL+C with following CONTROL+V to paste text, the national characters are not retained in pasted text.

Password - MUST be 4 digits or even more complicated combination of letters & numbers. I would prefer a more simple one - like two letters

Multitasking - several files of same application opened simultaneously / easy switching between those. E.g. Mobile Excel files - one has to close one before opening another.

Retain the viewing preferences of files - I prefer 60% zoom on my Excel files, and most of the other type files, but it always opens with 100% zoom by default.

Backup Program - I would expect the program to overwrite changed files and write new files only since previous backup, to do the process faster. Instead it writes all files completely. the backup is in one file, *dbk, there is no possibility to recover single file, eg. Word or Excel file. One recovers all files from the time of Backup.

All these properties and functions were available on my some 8 years old Psion and I never expected that they would not be available on the top modern software.

I never expected that among all the communications available on Axim, the SMS will not be present, likevise the Eastern Europeans national characters.

There is a lot of software out there to help you.

GSFinder is a great free file explorer.

Sprite of Spb Backup get good reviews.

Many pics programs out there.

There is a great piece of save software out there, cant recall name.

Planmaker 2006 is just like fullblown excel. and textmaker 2006 is fullblown word.

There are alternate password programs.

Magic button can help in managing open windows.

I agree with the wm os missing many key features from the begining but there is many things to do to get it your way.

Yes, there are ways around your problems. A good save software, IMHO, is one called File Dialog Changer.

Is it from scrolling too fast with the stylus? I think that has happened.

u can never tell when it will happen but I don't want to experiment and force it to happen, I don't wanna see it again but its likely to happen when the stylus is used for scrolling.

sounds to me like the tv static problem is something exclusive to axims because I browse myspace daily on me ipaq and I go on wiki often and have never had a problem with that. Might be a problem with the graphics chipset not supporting some rendering function.

I would write a email to Dell telling them of the problem then I would hope that they would release a rom update with a updated graphics function that would allow it to run properly.c
