Hi All

How can my AXIM see the wireless channel 13 and 14? I am using the channel 14 at home and my x51v just can't see the AP. I can make the connection after I switch back to 12 or 6.

I called Dell and they said the wireless card in x51v don't support channel 14. I thought that's BS... How about those user in Euo or JAP?


Any idea about that?

Euro and Jap axims are slightly different.. I think its a hardware thing as a US axim even with a UK Rom doesn't get the extra channels.

emmm.... I thought the hardware should be the same. I have couple wireless card for desktop or laptop. They are all Ok with channel 13 and 14...

Are you saying that is because the hardware layer? I do not think the manufactory will make the diff chip for EUO and JP.

the chips are the same but the registry is different for euro bound axims with wireless so you can edit the registry to change the channels it connects to if you know where to find the entry

 

are you sure it's in the registry? If it was then the Euro Roms would enable Wifi without any other settings...

If i recall correctly the FCC does not allow the 13 and 14 channel for one reason or another your router might be European just switch to a different channel...
