Spunker 88,
As an ex Axim user, (X51V) I went to a Sprint PPC6700 last year. PDA phones, or smartphones, whatever you want to call them are definitiely the wave of the future. Just like the Palms and Pocket PCs there are some compromises to be made. Screen size is one, but since I use mine as a tool for work, MP3 player, and organizing my life, not as a video player, the screen is perfectly adequate. Its a little bulkier, about half again as thick as an Axim, but it has a slide-out QWERTY keypad that makes messaging and note-taking a breeze compared to either using a stylus or dragging along a "portable" keyboard. It runs WM2005 flawlessly, its fast, and now I don't have to carry a phone and a PPC around with me. Its battery life is almost the equivalent of the Axim's, depending on its use. It has a 2-Gig mini-SD slot that I can keep all of my music and program files on. The camera isn't the best in the world, but its adequate to record important items that I want a record of. So, in my particular case, its the best solution for me. It might not be the best solution for you. Kind of makes me think of the Apple/PC commercials currently running on TV. There is no one solution, and technology will continue to move on. Right now, it appears the pendalum is swinging towards integrated devices. Who knows, some technology break-through may occur and it will swing a different way.

I like your perspective on this topic. It was very enlightening.
i really would love for dell to make this free for us because even since the new update with WM5 there still has been problems where the devices have not been functional. Im assuming that crossbow OS is entirely rebuilt thus assuming that there shouldnt be any problems and it looks alot better =]. I say that dell to make us x50 and 51 users to make this new OS free for us when it does come out because if not then i will never buy a dell pocket pc ever ( not to sound harsh)
ken... Why should dell do this for free??? I like free, i'd like you to send me free money. But I don't think that's going to happen either

lol all im trying to get is that why should we put up with there problems? why cant they acutally like test it and knowing if there are problems with the OS fix it before putting it out to the public. even after the new fix that dell/microsoft put up still hear problems that it aint working and etc etc its like nothing was accomplished. i think they should work alittle more harder on fixing the problem instead of patching it.
Dell wouldn't do that then their Tech Support would be out of Jobs, microsoft should do this but what do they care they now have UMPC's to focus on. Crossbow shouldn't be that large of a jump like 2003se to WM5 that devices should be able to handle it.
Any WM5 device should be able to upgrade like from 2003 to 2003se.
Maybe that is what the Download agent will finally do.
I think it is only usable on the HTC models, but I'm unsure. Why doesn't Microsoft just offer upgrades through the download agent like it was designed for.
