Aximsitewifiicon PIE doesn't work - Opera does - help!

Thanks to the many great posts here, I was able to get my X51v working perfectly for internet & networking. Everything worked fine for months.

Suddenly, PIE, SPB weather, & MSN do not work. However, Opera Browser, AvantGo, and file transfers from the PC still work fine! I did a full system backup to a date when I knew everything worked, and did a successful SPB weather download immediately upon reboot. 2 minutes later, it would not work again.

Message from PIE = The page can not be found. Check the name & try again
Message from MSN = Temporary conditions prevent connecting to the Pocket MSN service
Message from SPB Weather = none - the icon spins as normal, but no update.

I'm sorry - I don't even know what other information to post - I dont' know where to begin looking, as Opera browser works fine, and so does PC networking.

Does anyone have any ideas? What does Opera do differently that allows a success? Could I have set something differently? (I made no changes that I'm aware of, and I don't think I've installed anything lately)

Any help wold be really appreciated!

Kind regards,

Mike

First run a cleaning utility like pocket mechanic or memaid. If your using PM's registry cleaner leave the last two options unchecked. If this doesn't help something may be wrong with pie.

You might have to clean it several times. If you use a program such as memmaid. You can even try moving the ie cache. You can delete the old one and start pie fresh. I even deleted favorites and history. That was the only way I could resurrect it. Also when you have done this, try to connect the way you want to normally connect. If you connect thru the activesync pc connection, connect the first time this way. If you connect with wifi alone, do that. Get it working one way and then try using alternate means.

Got it. After cleaning up the cache, I bumped into the 'work' settings, which was telling IE to try and go through a non-existant proxie. Turned that off, and worked perfectly. (I'm sure I'm not the first to have a new activesync from work reset something like this) Amazing thing is that Opera worked fine the whole time.

Thanks again for getting me going.
