Contacts - slow loading list

I have 1000+ contacts (sorted by company) and it takes about 20-30 seconds for the entire list to load and be viewable. My Sony Clie and Palm III were both immediate. Does anyone know of an app or hack that more efficiently loads contacts?

I don't believe there's one.
I tried to look for the same thing.
I was also a former Palm user, so I know what you mean.

I concur, I just switched from Palm and have over 1000 contacts as well. Small price to pay!

For whatever it's worth... I learned that as long as "Contacts" is running, the look-up is much faster.

If you're not sure if Contacts is running, install a utilities/task manager such vBar (a good free app).
