WM5 power on, power off problem?

I tried WM5 before, loved it then hated it when it began to have problems with turning off properly when I hit the on/off button.

I uninstalled it and now again had to go back because WM2003SE memory management is so attrocious that I was forced to go to WM5 just to get my GPS software to work.

ANYWAY, this second install was running great for a few weeks of irregular use. Now, I'm on a medical rotation where I need my palm every 15 minutes and turning it on and off has brought the same problem back to light...

I tried removing the CF card and that didn't help. I've tried changing a bunch of settings...

anyone have any other ideas or things I can try to keep this MFing thing from crashing while it's OFF (literally if I use it a few times and leave it off for more than 30min the battery plate feels warm and the battery goes dead...

PLEASE HELP!

anyone?

I reinstalled WM5 and have only OCN5 and Epocrates installed.

Still appears to be crashing because if I use it a few times, then don't use it for an hour or so I go to turn it back on and the battery dies...

WTF?

Search the forums for the "Fake Server Trick" WM5 constantly activates ActiveSync, waking the Axim all day/night long, killing the battery.
