Wireless Internet Access - Long Delay

This is a follow-up to discussions under this thread:

http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=131661

Several weeks on I still have the same problem of a long delay (about 90 seconds) accessing sites on the Internet on wireless. I've been through all the FAQ's and guides and done loads of googling, but no luck. Here's the setup:

Cable Internet through NTL (UK).
D-Link DI-824VUP+ Router
Dell Axim X51v WM5 A12

Wireless is fine on one PC and one Laptop. Internet access in the cradle is fine.

Had similar problem on Kubuntu box solved by disabling ipv6, but I don't know how to do this on the X51v?

I can ping websites from the X51v with quick response times. Pages seem to load quickly once they connect.

Any ideas - I confess that I've not tried a hard reset (coward).

Regards, Martin

I have a similar problem. Here's my setup: A12 X51v, WEP and Belkin Pre-N router. WiFi access with PIE has been great for many months and then all of the sudden I'm now getting 20-25 second delays when trying to connect to websites. Once I'm on a site, I can surf with no delays but when accessing a new site, another 20-25 second delay. The only change I made to my X51v was to add the beta version of WBA. I'd rather not remove this unless I have to - I've tweaked it and I'm getting pretty attached to it. FYI, access with Opera Mobile 8.65B seems to be at normal speeds, not delayed like PIE.

So, can anyone help solve our PIE delay problem? TIA!

PS - I searched Aximsite and only found this relevant thread.

Edit: I applied the LSPValue.txt reg fix and that solved my internet access problems through ActiveSync 4.2. What's interesting is that I don't have the 20-25 second PIE delay when accessing the internet through AS! I still have it when accessing using wifi though. I guess the problem is in the Belkin router?

Have you disabled PowerSave in the WLAN utility? Having it set to on or auto can cause slow web access with many routers/access points.
