Scrollbar Sizes

To change the size of your scrollbars, go to this directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE and then use these keys:
  • cxHScr
  • cxVScr
  • cyHScr
  • cyVScr
The default value is 13, I change them to 10 and I save lots of screen space while still having functioning scroll bars.
Requires Soft Reset
Source: That would be me, as I was curious as to where the location of all of the tweaks in SK Tools were, but you can find this at practically every decent tweaks listing.

Show the date and time in the task bar

By default, your Axim only shows the time in the taskbar at the top. You can switch between a digital or analog display by holding on the clock and then selecting your choice. To display the date, edit the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftShell

Create a new binary value named “TBOpt” and set it to “13 00 00 00”
Requires soft reset

Change the default Imput Method to either the Keyboard, Character Recognizer, or the

Warning, this tweak can be dangerous as some input methods may render the device non functional, you should perform a backup before experiencing with this one !

The Keyboard (Pocket PC default) and the Character Recognizer both seems to work correctly as the default input method, but Transcriber does not.

Look in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ for input panels ClassIDs (input panels have the IsSIPInputMethod\ subkey).
For exemple :Input Method

ClassID

Keyboard
{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}

Character Recognizer
{42429690-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}

Transcriber
{F0034DD0-2AD4-11d1-9CB0-E84BE8000000}

While you're there, you can change their name ("Default" value) and enable/disable them ("IsSIPInputMethod\Default" value).
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip\
Change the "DefaultIm" value to the ClassID string of the input method you want to use as the default.
Requires soft reset

Settings Tweaks

Adjust the screen contrast:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Contrast
Rename the Redirect key to xRedirect. This places a Contrast icon on the Settings|System tab.

Control when the backlight is turned off and on:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Backlight
Rename the Redirect key to xRedirect. This places a Backlight icon on the Settings|System tab.

Displays the power of the batteries. Just a different looking screen:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Power
Rename the Redirect key to xRedirect. This places another Power icon on the Settings|System tab.

This appears to display any OS update that have been applied. I'm not sure though.
HKLM\ControlPanel\Updates
Rename the Redirect key to xRedirect. This places an Updates icon on the Settings|Connections tab.

I don't have a modem so I'm not sure what this is. It looks like some sort of phone dialer. But when I click the icon, nothing happens. Maybe someone with a CF modem can check this out and post the results.
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone
Rename the Redirect key to xRedirect. This places a Phone icon on the Settings|System tab.

speed up the display

Tip to speed up the display is to increase the glyph cache value. However, this will take up more system memory. Launch your registry editor and browse to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE.
Change the value of "limit" from 8192 (default) to 16384 or even 32768.

Timezone & Time Update

In the branch HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting Change the value of the Key "ShowTimeZonesPage" to value of 1 (dword). Close your registry editor (no reset required) and tap START-SETTINGS-PHONE, there should be a new tab where you can automatically set the phone to get time and timezone information from the network.

Lower the Pressure Threshold

go to..

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Drivers\Touch

or find 'Threshold'

Change the value of Pressure Threshold.(INCREASE value ONLY!!!)

what i did is set the value at 11880.

i tried doubling the default value. until i have reached my desired setting.

now,its like tapping soflty without having a feeling that i have screen protector. Also less stress on the stylus and screen and faster tapping.:-)

WARNING: Only INCREASE THE VALUE BUT NEVER THE DECREASE THE DEFAULT VALUE.

Lowering the value of Pressure Threshold means you need to apply more pressure in tapping than you normally do.

ive tried this and when i soft reset, the screen won't react even if i apply deep pressure in tapping so i needed to do a HARD Reset!!!

So don't ever think of lowering the value, JUST INCREASE but NEVER LOWER!!
Requires soft reset

Show screen orientation icon

This will show or hide the small icon that let you change your screen orientation:

HKLM\system\GDI\rotation\HideOrientationUI = 0 (Dword)
or a 1 to hide the icon

If that doesn't work, you can try:

HKLM\services\screenrotate = 1 (dword, 0 to hide)
Requires soft reset

Show Edge network indicator instead of GPRS

If your network provider supports the Edge network (and your device does as well), you can use the following to show a little 'E' icon instead of 'G' icon when connected to an Edge network:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon = 1 (DWORD decimal)

To disable again:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon = 0 (DWORD decimal)

Note that your device -and- your network operator need to support Edge, otherwise you won't see it. Also note that if you connect to GPRS, you will still see the 'G' icon

Add GPS settings icon

If you have a GPS device, you can add a GPS settings icon to your Start > Settings menu using:
HKLM\ControlPanel\GPS Settings\Group = 2 (DWORD decimal)
HKLM\ControlPanel\GPS Settings\redirect <-- delete, or rename, this value
Note that '2' stands for the Connections tab, '1' is System and '0' would be Personal
Note also that this has reportedly disabled one person's USB connectivity. To restore, set "GPS Program Port = None", "GPS Connection Port = None", "Automatic GPS Management = on

Hide/Show battery indicator in Task bar

If you wish to hide the battery indicator in the task bar on some devices, you can set:
HKLM\Services\Power\ShowIcon = 0 (DWORD decimal)

And to show:
HKLM\Services\Power\ShowIcon = 1 (DWORD decimal)

Note that this icon and its feature may not be available on your device at all. For example, the HTC Wizard regularly ships with a battery indicator in the Tray instead, governed by "Windows\Startup\Init_Tray.exe"._
_Note also that this reportedly does not work on AKU2 ROMs to remove the new battery indicator

Show slide-out keyboard caps/dot icon next to SIP

If your device contains a file called "capnotify.exe", try running it (most devices that have it will already have it in the Windows\StartUp\ folder), and setting the following value to get a visual presentation of whether you are in caps or dot (alternate key function) mode:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\EnableIndicator = 1
Please note that if your device has no external keyboard with caps/dot mode, you won't gain anything from this tweak
Please also note that the application "?CapNotify.exe" must be running (normally found in \Windows\?StartUp\ already) for this to work
